Globe Trotting
One of the ISA projects was Globe Trotting, which involved a lot of activities – group and single - and evoked a high level of interest and enthusiasm among the students. They made a comparative study of the flags of the 12 countries involved, and the colour-meaning of the flags; they matched famous monuments with the countries they belong to; they solved a word-search on the cities of each of the countries; they learnt of the time difference and distance between the countries, prepared pass-ports, boarding passes and visas. They vied with each other to display the best bulletin board, eagerly posing to show off their efforts. Friendly teachers, responsible for the project, guided them. While working on the project, they were in awe of the information they collected on the famous monuments and various tourist-spots. It even led to information exchanged by the experienced students who had visited the country and who contributed to the project through their photos. The students were rich in knowledge of their dear motherland, India, and loud and active discussions followed, the noise, for once, did not awaken a single wrinkle of frown either from the principal or the vice-principal! They exchanged smiles of pride. |

GLOBAL LIFE EXPECTANCY - the ISA project.
The students collected information from internet on the average life expectancy of male, female and overall for the countries like China, Saudi Arabia (Jeddah), Nigeria, Somalia, Australia, Brazil, Germany, U.S., Canada and India. After collecting the information students tabulated the data and represented them graphically by using Histogram, Pie-Graph, Line-Graph, Bar-Graph. The graph based on the comparative study of average life expectancy of INDIA with other chosen countries were done.
Students also researched on the NEGATIVE and POSITIVE FACTORS AFFECTING the average life expectancy of the countries chosen. Group discussions were done based on the results of graphs in Power point presentations and written documents. The students discussed the various methods to increase the average life expectancy.
The STUDENTS added a touch of fun by – CAKE DECORATION, MAKING OF ORNAMENTS, MANDELA- AN ART, DECORATION BY BUISCUITS AND CHOCOLATES on the graphs of various results.
"Each individual can contribute to increase the AVERAGE LIFE EXPECTANCY by adopting good habits and avoiding the factors which have negative impact on the average life expectancy."
